Cummine of Eigg

Introduction

The name Cuimmíne occurs frequently in the martyrologies (there are 15 in Mart. T) and it may be that this 'devout man of Eig' corresponds to one of them. Another Cuimmíne is commemorated with Donan on 17 April (presumably a martyr of the slaughter recorded in AU 617.1), and there is a Cuimmíne among the monks of Munnu m. Tulcháin qv.
