Alexander (Geog. Coll. i, 332)
The existence of this saint is inferred only from a well and chapel which carry the name. The name may be a version of Alexander. Camerarius reports a saint Alexander and Forbes finds a fair of Saint Alexander at Keith (Forbes, Kalendars, 270; Camerarius, De Fortitudine, 166). It is possible, however, that a different name lies behind Alchenter, and that Alexander is simply an approximation to a known name.
