NGR for the old kirk, with 4 Pictish stones, early incised crosses, on the north side of the River Don (which is one parish boundary) and on west side of Over Burn (which is the boundary between Inverurie and Keithhall and Kinkell to the east). The strip of land on which the kirk and the motte and bailey lie is almost an island formed between these two rivers. The name Inverurie must refer to the Over Burn’s mouth.
