Parish notes

Kirkden KIR had a detached part situated at Middletonmoor, and bounded on the west and south by the parish of Guthrie, and elsewhere by the par. of Kinnell and a small detached part of par. of Farnell. Likewise in 1891 this detached part of Kirkden KIR was transferred to Guthrie (GUT KIR), consisting of Greens of Gardyne (part of estate of Gardyne KIR), & small parts of the estates of Middleton & Pitmuies (KIR). In 18th c. Kirkbuddo XKB was a detached part of Guthrie parish GUT, and remained so until 1891, when it was made part of Inverarity (Shennan 1892, 195 q.v. for definition of Kirkbuddo).
