Notes

NGR is for the burial ground on the site of the old Parish Church of Nisbet, which was amalgamated with Crailing in 1612, Crailing being appointed to serve both parishes. The building was demolished c.1757 (NMRS). A Hogback previously in the kirkyard is now in Hawick Museum (see NMRS, again); acc to PSAS 39 (1905), 363ff, there was another hogback and a coped monument there also. See also Lang in PSAS 105 (1973), p. 230.
