Known as Toskerton or Kirkmadryne TOX, the church, which was an independent parsonage in Bag. (p. 75), had been annexed to priory of Whithorn before the Reformation, while at the same period the vicarage was held by a canon of that house (Testament of Mathew Fleming; Deeds ii, 457). Cowan 1967, 199 (under Toskerton). It is now part of Stoneykirk SOK.
