Notes
This hill has on it the remains of an Iron Age dún or hill fort. In the midst of that ancient monument are a few graves in an enclosure. The name Angels' Hill probably arises from the burial practice there - apparently a fairly modern one, given the stone monuments, but it is possible that an earlier burial ground was there of which no monuments remain. We should perhaps bear in mind the possibility that 'Angels' Hill' is a translation of an earlier *Cnoc nan Aingeal.
