Notes

NGR is for the remains of 'Our Lady's or Hopekailzie Church' (OS 6 inch 1st edn). On the OS 6 inch 1st edn. map, Kailzie is in a detached part of Traquair, separated from the main body of Traquair parish by a detached part of Yarrow parish, as described by the 'Explanation of Orders' in 1891: 'The parish of Traquair had a detached part which was separated from the main portion of the parish by a detached part of the parish of Yarrow. By the Order printed at p. 118 this detached part of the parish of Yarrow, and also another nearly detached part of Yarrow situated north of Minchmuir, have been transferred to the parish of Traquair' (Shennan 1892, 325)
