Parish notes

A hospital, to which this parish church was annexed, had been founded x1455, although a reference in 1363 to ‘a certain hospital, having a parish church annexed’ almost certainly applies to this foundation (Cowan & Easson 1976, 194). See Cowan 1967, 199-200 for more references. Cummertrees and Trailtrow united in 1609, with Cummertrees to be the ‘place of resorte’ i.e. the site of the parish kirk (APS iv, p. 441).
