Notes

A hill rising immediately to the north of Kilbride, eccles, Glassary. Though the name Cnoc an Aingil does not refer explicitly to any named angel, the association of St Michael the Archangel with the conduct of the dead to Paradise, and therefore with burial grounds, and also with high places and hill-tops, make it likely that Michael is the angel referred to in the name.
