Notes
OSA (1792): 'To Dunoon, the parish of Kilmun is annexed, which is evidently derived from the church or cell, dedicated to St Mun. His burial place is called Sith-Mhun' (OSA ii, 283). But see Butter 2010, 38 for the possibility that the name originally referred to a Suidhe Mhunge beside Kilmun on Loch Awe and was transferred together with the infancy story to the area of Kilmun in Cowal.
