Notes

The vennel of the church (ecclesia) is mentioned in 1350 x 1360 in a charter by Thomas son of John, to John of Rate, of land in the burgh of Inverbervie. It is referred to as an 'ecclesia' rather than a 'capella', in spite of the fact that Cowan (1926, 87) states that it was merely a chapel of Kinneff until after the Reformation.
