A sharply rising hill on the east bank of the Tarf Water, which is the western boundary of Kirkcowan parish. Although the hill lies immediately west of OS Digimap Chapel Hill, the supposed chapel on Chapel Hill, also shown on OS maps is reported to be probably the remains of an old farmstead (NMRS).
