Notes
The settlement of Kirkhobble lies 300 metres to the south of this site on OS 6 inch 1st edn. It is no longer marked on OS maps. The name Clachaneasy, 'clachan Iosa' may mean 'kirkton or kirk of Jesus' (Watson 1926, 170), and the existence of a church or chapel of this name is inferred from the settlement name Clachaneasy.
