Notes

NMRS records that no remains of a chapel survive, though an earth-and-stone bank probably represents the remains of the graveyard. A font survives also which is thought to have originated at this site. W.J. Watson included this site among a group of Brigit dedications in the region: 'two in Wigtown, three in Kirkcudbright, and two in Dumfriesshire, in the forms of Kirkbride, Kilbride, Kirklebride (for Kirk-kil-bride).' (1926, 161)'
