Close to this burn are the remains of a medieval chapel, dating to around the fourteenth century (but part of its burial ground overlying an earlier bank) (NMRS, Canmore ID 67914). This suggests that the 'Lady' involved in this name might be Our Lady, the BVM, but this cannot yet be regarded as certain.
