The existence of the chapel of Kirkbride is inferred from the place-name of the farm, Kirkbride. The burn running past this farm is called Balsaggart Burn (formed from Gaelic baile 'farm' and sagart 'priest') which also suggests an ecclesiastical connection with the place. There is no trace of the chapel on the ground, to the best of our knowledge.
