Notes

The NGR given, as a vague location, is inferred from the charter of 1503 in which 'capella S. Rochi' is described as beside the south end of the bridge of Stirling (juxta australem finem pontis de Striveling) (RMS ii no. 2678). In the same charter the king is said to have founded the chapel himself (Rex ... in capella ... per ipsum fundata) for the celebration of daily Mass.
