Notes
The cult and patronage of 'Beati Kessogi' at this church is recorded in the sixteenth century by Aberdeen Calendar, 262. In 1315, Robert I granted 'to God and St Kessog (Deo et beato Kessogo) that freedom which is called gyrth, that is around the kirk of Luss (ecclesiam de Lusse) for a distance of three miles on all sides, both by land and by water' (referring to distance across Loch Lomond, where Luss sits) (RRS v no. 55).
