Notes
Dalpeddar farm sits in the broad haugh of the R Nith which is undoubtedly the eponymous dàl. A number of linked names include Dalpedder Hill (NS836070), Low Dalpedder (NS827066). There is a "Chapel Yard" next to this settlement. NMRS (Canmore ID 46326) notes that there was a tower to which a chapel seems to have been attached. At Chapel Yard (recorded by OS Name Book 1856) coffin handles are said to have been found during ploughing. No surface indications of a chapel survive.
