Notes
The NGR is for the medieval parish kirk of Lathrisk, later known as Kettle when the centre of the parish was moved to the settlement of Kettle. The record of a church of this name, 'ecclesia Sancti Johannis Evangeliste et Sancti Athernisci confessoris de Losceresch' has in the past occasionally been misunderstood as a reference to Leuchars parish kirk, due to the resemblance of the names 'Losceresch' and 'Leuchars'. But there is no doubt that the church in the record is that of Lathrisk, now called Kettle. Aberdeen Calendar, 271: 'In Scocia apud Lauthreis, Ethernasius episcopus vite mirande sanctitatis et gracia plenus'.
