The site of this well is commemorated in the modern street-name Marywell Street, and the Marywell Centre at the corner of that street (OS Digimap). NMRS records: (Area NJ 940 056) The site of St Mary's Well lay near the bottom of Affleck Street 'north of the gutter in front of a gate on the south side' (Milne 1911). Its water, issuing from a small, iron pipe, was drunk by the inhabitants of The Green until the middle of the 19th century, but the site is now covered by a road and no trace remains. J Milne 1911. Visited by OS (JLD) 8 September 1952. The site of this well now lies under the line of a modern road. Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, ATW), 26 February 1997.
