There is a well marked on OS maps going back to OS 1st edn 6", by roadside beside Ladywell Bridge, over the Ladywell Burn, in between two settlements named Low and High Ladywell. We are probably justified in surmising that this feature is the eponymous Ladywell. Although Maybole is dedicated to Cuthbert, the nearest ecclesiastical site is Kirkbride (NS262169), which may be of interest in connection to Ladywell.
