Notes
The NGR is given for the site of the earlier medieval parish kirk of Cupar, as shown on OS 6 inch 1st edn. The dedication to Mary/BVM is suggested by the proliferation of Marian place-names in the vicinity. After the parsih centre was moved south, into the burgh itself, in 1415, the dedication of this place seems to have changed to one to St Christopher. See Taylor with Márkus iv, 263-4.
