Notes
Nothing remains of this chapel on the ground (NMRS). Its supposed dedication to the BVM is asserted by the OS Name Book, but in spite of the lack of a sound attestation it is a possibility. There is a well called Ladywell about 400 metres to the NW of this site marked on OS 6 inch 1st edn (1843 x 1882), becoming Lady's Well on 2nd edn (1892 x 1905).
