Notes
For its foundation in 1379-80, its appearance as the Lady Chapel of Kirkburn, and its location, see NMRS (45083). It is now occupied by garage grounds. Note that the location of the chapel is implied in a charter of 1458 in which a croft is described as extending 'from the eastern corner of the north side of the cemetery of the said church (of Cambuslang) going directly north, going down to the bounds of the town lands of Cambuslang as far as the burn which flows down to the chapel of the BVM, and from this going up by the said burn to the western corner of the said cemetery ....' (Glas. Reg. no. 382).
