Notes

NMRS records the site of the chapel and its dimensions, together with a semi-circular apse; its having been paved with undressed stones; the presence of gravestones about it. 'It is said that a quantity of its clay was taken and strewn over the burial ground of the present parish church'. Its site is now covered in nettles and bracken (1977). See NMRS record for fuller details. This MAY be the medieval parish church site of Kilmory, though this is not certain. Nothing now remains, and it is not marked on current OS maps. However, the details given by NMRS of the building (a bit too grand to be a chapel), its burial ground and the reported transfer of soil from this site to that of the present parish church (presumably to 'enact' the spiritual identity of the two places) all strongly suggest that this was the earlier parish church.
