Notes

NGR is based on NMRS record for site. For St Leonard's Hospital, see entry in Cowan and Easson, p. 170. The name Doonslee, as found in early records, does not seem to be extant. For early records, see also the Database of Scottish Saints' Cults, http://webdb.ucs.ed.ac.uk/saints/. Various local names seem to recall the hospital, however, e.g., St Leonards Road, a house named St Leonards at NS333204, etc. NMRS records that the hospital is first mentioned in 1420, and it seems to have cared for travellers and poor people. There are no visible remains. See NMRS for further notes on its history and location.
