Aberdeen Breviary, 28 Sept: 'Qui quidem Conuallus pro precipuo patrono apud Inchenennem colitur'. Aberdeen Calendar, 28 Sept: 'apud Inchenan Sancti Conualli confessoris ...' The old parish kirk of Inchinnan was dedicated to St Conval. It overlooks (from the western side) the confluence of the White Cart Water and the Black Cart Water. Early medieval carved stones survive in the old graveyard.
