The chapel remains seem to exist still on the grounds of Loretto School. It was clearly marked on the OS 6" 1st edn, and also on the town survey of 1853. Canmore casts doubt on the identification, though the vicinity is probably correct. For its foundation in 1533, grants to the chapel and adjacent hermit's cell, and its destruction in 1544 and subsequent repair see NMRS.
