Granted to the uses of Arbroath Abbey by Bishop Turpin of Brechin (1189x94 Arb. Lib. i no.178); controversy broke out at time of Bp. Albin (1246-69) anent this and 5 other churches which the bishop claimed for his mensa. Resolved 1248 (Arb. Lib. i no.181) in Arbroath’s favour, but dispute rumbled on throughout the middle ages.
