Notes

This is marked on modern OS maps as 'Chapel Well (site)', the well having been filled-in. It's use was associated with a site called by NMRS Cambusbarron chapel and burial ground of which there is now no trace. NMRS says that part of the chapel was still standing in the late fifteenth century and the dedication is unknown. The chapel is Canmore ID 46267, the well is ID 46248. NMRS report a source of 1904 claiming that the well was formerly known as 'Christ's Well'. St Thomas's Well, Stirling, has also been claimed as the object formerly so labelled. St Thomas's Well is Canmore ID 46237.
