There are two settlements in Kippen called Ladylands on OS maps, a large one at the above NGR, and another 260 metres to the south at NS628953. Strangely the northerly one lay in the PER portion of Kippen parish, while the southern one lay in the STL portion of that parish. The part of the parish that lay in PER was transferred to the county of STL on 15 May 1891 (Shennan 1892, 52).
