In support of this being a hagiotoponym is the fact that Chapellaroch DRY is said to be the site of a chapel of the BVM (belonging to Inchmahome), about 560 metres to the NE of Dalmary. The NGR given is for the settlement called Dalmary on OS 6 inch 1st edn. The name now applies to a wider township in the vicinity. It also gives itself to OS Digimap Dalmary Lodge (NS516955)and Dalmary Cottage (NS517954).
