Notes

This is the former parish kirk of Strageath, a parish which was later divided up between Blackford, Crieff and Muthill. The dedication of the local people to Patrick is attested in the nineteenth century (NSA), the parish minister noting, that 'the inhabitants of Muthill, until very lately held S. Patrick's name in so high veneration that on his day (March 17) neither the clap of the mill was heard nor the plough seen to move in the furrow.'
