Notes
The NGR is for the old parish kirk. Note that it stood in a valley called Mungosdail, representing Old Norse 'valley of the monks', indicating a monastic presence or tenure here in the Norse-speaking period. The site is called 'St Fintan's Church' on modern OS maps, but this is a mistake, the name having been inferred from Killundine, which actually lies 4.2 km to the south-east, and so misapplied to this site. OS Maps also call this site Cill Dhonnaig, and that is also a mistake, as there is no good reason to see Killintag as containing a reference to anyone called *Donnag.
