OSA Dunnichen, i, 422: 'The church is small and old. It was dedicated to St Causnan. ... a large well near the church also bears his name' (1793). St Causnan's Well was in 1802 renamed Camperdown Well in honour of the British victory over the Dutch at the Battle of Camperdown in 1797.
