On OS 6 inch 1st edn, Kirk Shod, a field, is marked 'site of the Chapel of St John (of Baikie)'. David II approved a gift in 1362 by William de Fenton 'to God and the BVM, and to a monk to celebrate in perpetuity [in capella] of Baikie (Baky), of his land of Lynros with its pertinents (RMS i no. 99; see also no. 126).
