Notes
NMRS records: Remains of 1855 church which became derelict c 1895. Massive old buttressed walls round the burial ground at Chapelton suggest an Early Christian church here, but no tombstone dates back further than the 19th century. J H Dixon 1925. _______________ The OS 6 inch map (1867) appears to show it as a going concern, and states that it is 'Roman Catholic'.
