The well lies below the road going going north from Kiloran Bay to Balnahard, near Caves (marked on OS map as antiquities). It is lined with stone and a corbelled cover has been built over it. An iron chain pinned to one of the rocks beside it used to have a silver cup attached to it, but it was stolen some years ago (local informants).
