Notes
This church appears to have become the parish kirk after the Reformation, prior to which the parish was centred at Kilmaluag on the NE coast of the parish. Nothing remains of the old kirk of Kilmuir, the one now standing in ruins having been built in 1810, though some stones which were erected into a stone wall inn the twentieth century appears to have been taken from the rubble heap that was once the medieval kirk (NMRS).
