Notes
The island on which the old parish church of Craig stood is Inchbraoch, which explains the alternative name of the parish. This island has been taken from Craig parish into Montrose. The site contains early medieval stones, including a fine Pictish cross-slab portraying a hunting scene and Samson slaying a Philistine (?) with his ass's jaw.
