A fragment of a cross-slab carved in high relief was discovered in 1964 by Mr Fairlie (Farm Manager, Glensaugh) while taking rubble for road-material from the centre of St Ringan's Cairn. It is thought to date to the ninth or tenth century and is now in the Marshall Museum, Aberdeen.
