Notes

On the right bank of the River Don, at a deep bend where it creates a fine haugh on a promontory, now Machar's Haugh. On 'Chapel Haugh', and close to 'Chapel Ford' (OS 6 inch 1st edn). OS Name Book (1867) states that though a ruin had been here in living memory no local knowledge of a chapel survived (cited by NMRS).
