Notes

There is no sign of a church at this site now, but the burial ground was still in use in 1904 (Watson 1904, 181). Kintail people traditionally claimed that Faolán was buried here, and a sod from Iona sent by Colum Cille to cover his grave, which is placed north and south (Watson 1926, 284). A story that a well and tree are at his grave is recorded by D. MacPherson in 1958, located at NG9475.3497 (NMRS; Canmore ID 12026).
