'Pitkerrald in Glen Urquhart is understood to mean "St Cyril's share," but the name involved may be Cairell, not uncommon of old' (Watson 1926, 409). However, the fact that the lands are attached to St Ninian's Chapel of Urquhart in 1509, and are called Petcarill Chapell, does mean we should consider more seriously that a saintly personal name is involved.
