Notes

According to Scott's Fasti, there was a chapel of the Holy Trinity at Udny, in the parish of Ellon, commonly called Christ's Kirk of Udny. When the parish of Udny was erected in 1597, disjoined from Ellon, Logie-Buchan, Tarves and Foveran, the chapel was replaced with a larger building (vi, 206). The chapel is referred to in the 1560s (Assumption, 463) as belonging to Ellon: ‘the Chapel Croft of Udnie, quhilk is ane parte of the kirk of Allane’.
