The site lies 460 m NW of the farm/settlement called Nevie (< G neimhidh 'church-land', cf. G neimhead 'consecrated land, glebe land?) OSA records (1794): 'very little remains of the chapel are to be seen, and the burying ground, with what was deposited in it, has been washed away by a small rivulet' (xiii, 37). By 1966 an OS surveyor recorded that there was no trace of the chapel (cited by NMRS).
