A well is marked on OS 6 inch 1st edn, between the site of the kirk and the manse, but it is not given any name, nor marked in gothic script. The Calendar of Fearn records 'Brandans day ane fair in ye .... of Bwindye besyide Banff' for 16 May (. 62), which is the feast of Brendan Moccu Altae, 'the Navigator'.
