Parish notes
The medieval parishes of Lamington and Wandel were united in 1608 (OPS i, 171). The church stood near the southern end of the parish, on the north bank of the Lamington burn, where it flows into the Clyde. A neighbouring spring bears the name of ‘Saint Innian’s Well’ (OSA, quoted OPS i, 173). This has been described on OS 1st edn 6" as "St Ninian's Well".
